How Virtual Care Works

Your appointment starts with understanding the concern and deciding what should happen next.

1

Book a virtual appointment

Choose an available virtual appointment through the Verra Health booking page.

2

Speak with a physician

Discuss your concern, relevant history, medications and what you are hoping to address.

3

Clarify the plan

Your physician may recommend treatment, monitoring, prescription review, referral or testing when appropriate.

4

Follow through

If virtual care is not enough, you will be told what in-person or urgent next step is appropriate.

Sometimes the Right Care Is In Person

Virtual care has limits. Your physician may recommend an examination, urgent care, emergency assessment, laboratory testing, imaging or an in-person clinic visit.

Clinical assessment

Some concerns are safer and clearer with a physical examination, vital signs or hands-on assessment.

Testing and imaging

Your physician can explain what testing or imaging may be appropriate and what to do next.

Urgent concerns

Severe, rapidly worsening or potentially dangerous symptoms may need urgent or emergency care rather than a routine virtual appointment.

Follow-through

Virtual care can be a starting point, but additional follow-up, investigation or an Edmonton clinic visit may be recommended depending on the concern.
